Mystic Asia

Two cents worth - instead of spending Halloween scaring yourself visiting Haunted Houses and the sort, what better way to spend it at a museum?

Though not on the actual day itself, Asian Civilisation Museum will be holding an event - ACM After Dark: Mystic Asia on 26th October 2013. Nothing too scary and enriching at the same time, being in a museum and all. And I quote, "enjoy a movie screening, hear haunting tales in the galleries, and make your own spooky souvenir to take home". Sounds like my kinda thing.

The things I would do to get my hands on any of them dresses and gowns.

Then again, I probably would not have any occasion to wear them to.

The Fur Ball

It has been a while but I could not help but share a recent event: The Fur Ball.

The Fur Ball is a charity art auction for them cats and dogs, auctioning illustrations done by Ning & Ning, and all proceeds of $4k went to Metta Cats. It was heartening to see supporters from all over came down to  The Factory, and Bread Butter & Jam was honored to be given the opportunity to do good by doing what we can - providing music.

And this, is The Fur Ball in a nutshell.

The less you reveal, the more people can wonder

“I find the whole concept of being ‘sexy’ embarrassing and confusing. If I do an interview with photographs people desperately want to change me - dye my hair blonder, pluck my eyebrows, give me a fringe. Then there’s the choice of clothes. I know everyone wants a picture of me in a mini-skirt. But that’s not me. I feel uncomfortable. I’d never go out in a mini-skirt. It’s nothing to do with protecting the Hermione image. I wouldn’t do that. Personally, I don’t actually think it’s even that sexy. What’s sexy about saying, ‘I’m here with my boobs out and a short skirt, have a look at everything I’ve got?’ My idea of sexy is that less is more. The less you reveal the more people can wonder.”

Well said.
